Summary
This has been their routine for as long as Drole can remember. As night fell and the world around them quieted down, Gloxinia and Drole would seek out a place to stay for the night.
Neither Drole nor Gloxinia necessarily required sleep- Gloxinia drew his energy from the Forest, and Drole drew his from the Earth around them. To the two, sleep was luxury rather than a necessity. Especially so in times of unrest such as these, when a king could not afford to let his guard down for a second.
But these nights were ones of peace, of escape from the stress and the trouble of the world, where the two could forget their worries and bask in the comfort of one another.

Xiao will always remember the day another archon saved him. It was burned into his memory against his will, always hovering in the back of his thoughts. And though he knew this wasn’t true, he felt as though it was almost a betrayal to his lord.
He’d let another save him, and he prays that the debt that had put him in would not interfere with his contract with Morax. And his only way to ensure that never happens?

Albedo takes care to protect his campsite from all of these threats when he travels up the mountain to study in solitude.
Somehow, his preparations never considered the very natural phenomenon of avalanches.

Summary
It’s been two months since the storm, and Childe hasn’t seen Zhongli not even once, not since that fateful meeting with the Signora where the truth is finally unveiled.
And what a fun little kick to the gut that is, the realization that not only had he been played by all sides, but he's also being tossed aside like trash now that his use had run its course.
It’s not that Childe doesn’t get it. He’s a Harbinger. He knows first-hand what it means to do his duty, to put the mission first and his personal feelings far, far away, preferably locked up in a box, where it wouldn’t interfere with his job. He knows what it’s like working with vipers, to scheme and plot and lie in wait for the opportune moment to stab his opponent in the back.
But this time, this time Childe can’t help but feel a little (a lot) gutted.
Stupid. He’s gotten himself stupidly attached.
