In the wake of Lilith's death and the apparent destruction of their brotherhood, Dean and Sam find there's an even bigger revelation than Lucifer rising, because Lucifer isn't in his Cage. Lucifer and Michael both Fell a long time ago and became someone new. Became human.
With Heaven and Hell gunning for them, and new/old brothers fighting beside them, Dean and Sam have to navigate the world as the archangels they used to be and the brothers they're desperately trying to be again. Their bonds of brotherhood aren't easily torn apart, though, and something their enemies would be wise to realize.

yes. OH YES. this is single handedly one of THE greatest fic concepts and fic I have ever read in the spn fandom. like I am speechless. genuinely. this forty percent inspired my own rewrite-esque fic, which is using something exactly alike to the concept of sam & dean being reincarnated/fallen versions of lucifer & micheal. and seriously, the amount of love I felt for certain characters is insane to me. like gabriel and raphael weasled their way into my heart and is currently eating my soul. seriously a damn good fic if you LOVE sam-centric stuff ( though I suggest you take it with a grain of salt because at times it's very sam-centric ). all in all, probably going to pass away thinking about this fic. so 10/10, highly recommended <33

GAWD THIS FIC WAS AMAZING I died reading this like fifty something times. this fic ruined me. For once, Arthur didn’t tell her off for bugging him. He flipped his pencil around to erase a word, his eraser squeaking on the paper. “Keeps me sane.”
Steph considered that, frowning. “Can’t you be sane and not get caught?”
“Not how it works, babygirl. Not for people like me.” He rubbed her head. “Go get me another beer, will ya?”
