“Now that I’m no longer beholden to a rather arbitrary moral code, I have to ask: Do you pay taxes? Actually, more importantly, do you think I can stop paying taxes now? That seems like a sufficiently demonic thing to do. Refusing to do my civic duty and whatnot. Quite devious, I’d argue.”
This was, in hindsight, not the most sensitive way of breaking the news.

"Oh, Crowley." The angel takes a step further into the bookshop, words tumbling out in an unpractised rush. "I didn't even make it halfway up the lift before I realised what a terrible mistake I was making."
Crowley can feel Aziraphale's eyes on him. If he looks they'll be big and shiny and pleading, exquisitely beseeching in his regret. So he doesn't look. He's heard the words before, near enough. Seen the expression before, too. Fool him once, and all that.

“It’s just that I don’t think that the shop can sustain itself if it just gives away all its books like that willy-nilly to whoever will pay for them!”
The door slammed shut in his face again, and this time Aziraphale heard locks click behind it.
“Now that is really awfully rude!” he called through the door.
“I can show you just how rude I am!” Crowley shouted back, and this tone of voice Aziraphale had never actually heard directed at him even once, this wasn’t his usual temper, this was downright threat of harm. He hesitated for a moment, but when he saw black smoke from the cracks of Crowley’s door, he decided this might be a good time to leave.
Aziraphale really just wants to be sure his store is in good hands. Nothing else. Nothing to do with Crowley at all. Unfortunately, really most unfortunately, both seem to be connected. And so he just can't evade the demon. And he's trying so hard!

Summary
Feeling had always been interesting for Aziraphale, one of the most interesting parts of having a corporal form, he would tell you if asked. Of course, he wasn't plagued with as much sensorial capacity as most humans, but he still could feel things, which were most wonderful.
Heaven, of course, is a place of pure capacity and competence, so there is no need for frivolous things such as the soft texture of the paper under the angel's fingertips, or the slight perfume of fresh dirt that accompanied a certain demon.

"I'm a demon! I'm not even supposed to love for Satan's sake!", he said into the empty Bentley as his plants shook with fear in the back of the car.
If Crowley had been more among the demons he would have noticed how this sentence wasn't even the slightest bit true. Demons do, in fact, love, they love very much, it's just that their love is very different from the mandatory love that plagued angels. Demons also have the tendency to express their love through actions that are very similar to violence and rage, so I can understand how that got Crowley confused.

Aziraphale and Crowley need to figure some things out, they get a little help along the way.

Summary
Lena lets out a careful breath and says, “James and I have decided to end our— association.”
What a perfectly weird and roundabout way to describe the end of a romantic relationship, Kara thinks. “Oh?” she says, aptly demonstrating her own comparative lack of eloquence.
It earns her one of Lena’s crinkly smiles at least, affection clear on her best friend’s face. “Should I feel offended that you don’t seem all that surprised?” she flusters.
“No,” Kara says, “I am,” and she is, is the thing, she's actually stunned, but she’s something else, much more than that.
She’s elated.
“Bummer,” Kara says.

Summary
When Madame Tracy shares a body with Aziraphale, she picks up on Aziraphale’s very obvious head-over-heels adoration of Crowley. Naturally, she feels duty-bound to intervene:
The guard, Mr. Shadwell, and the united persons of Madame Tracy and the angel Aziraphale watched, transfixed, as the conflagration of heat and steel skidded to a halt before the barbed wire fence. Cacophonous music blared from speakers which had surely long ago melted.
The door swung open and - oh.
There was a flutter in Aziraphale’s - er, well technically Madame Tracy’s stomach.
From the vehicle, a lanky figure unfolded. Heedless of white flames, he swung the door closed behind him. The music evaporated as though it had never been.
“You wouldn’t get that sort of performance from a modern car,” he called, flippant. As if his cheekbones weren’t marked with soot, and his black, fitted jacket, not thoroughly singed.
Aziraphale took over their shared mouth without a thought.
“Crowley,” he said, like a sigh after a long held breath.
