High School ends and adult life starts with its own set of problems. Jess and Rory want their relationship to last, but have to deal with the challenges of living in separate states, work, college, the general disapproval of the Gilmores, and the ever-looming existence of Rory's ex-boyfriend.

He's told of a courtesan that has knowledge of medicine and poison, and seeks her out with the intention of requesting her assistance with the investigation.
