Ciel couldn’t argue that point. There wasn’t a single time in the week since taking up residence in his London home that Ciel had slept through the night. He’d made a point to complain about it over the breakfast table each morning between sips of Earl Grey and muttered wishes for the downfall of the Falmouth's entire family line. -

‘I don’t know where you’re getting your information. Perhaps Tatler needs better sources.’
‘Reformed.’ Alan reeled off adjectives, counting on his fingers. ‘Witty, erudite. Courteous—but I’d hate to misrepresent you, my lord,’ he added, shooting Jack a mischievous smile. ‘You’re welcome to set the record straight, if you’d like.’

Summary
Sebastian restored all things in Phantomhive Manor without giving any consideration to whether or not they would be needed by his young master: furniture, paintings, his parent’s belongings. This choice proved fortuitous in those early days of their contract while Ciel and Sebastian struggled to learn their new roles as earl and servant.
Dealing with the infected puncture wound in his master’s ear after his captivity was one of the times that exhaustive restoration came in handy for the butler. And as for the other ear, Sebastian had a thought or two about what to do with that as well….
