Michael Robinavitch is many things. He's a brilliant doctor, a capable teacher, an okay friend, a worse partner. The few times he's been able to call himself someone's partner, anyway. He's level-headed, for the most part. He tries his best to listen, to give good advice, to be fair. To not let his personal biases cloud his judgement of his employees. Sometimes, he even lets himself believe he's a good man.
But he's not an idiot. He can tell that Whitaker has a crush on him. He looks at him like he hung the moon. Like he has the answers the kid's clearly been searching for his entire life. Like he could fix whatever is wrong with him.

Summary
As Robby lifts his shirt up, Dennis is overcome with the need to bury his face in his armpit until he passes out. The gold chain with its Star of David that he always wears rests just below his collar. As Robby strips off, Dennis allows himself a longing look.
Yeah, Dennis admits to himself, he’s down pretty bad.
He’s certain that the fishing trips his brothers took with their dad didn’t have this additional complication – that of the man taking them being so hot they’d want to cry. Trinity’s comment, ‘daddy wants to take you to the woodshed,’ bounces around in Dennis’s head.

It’s been about a week since Dennis’s very embarrassing realization. He wants to blame most of it on being an alpha, but, much like his possessiveness, it’s Dennis’s own odd nature.
That doesn’t mean he wants Robby to know. And so, when he innocently passes Robby his phone to type something in one night he doesn’t consider what his mate may find.
Robby flips through it for whatever he’s looking for and hums. He clicks the phone and hands it back to Dennis. Dennis thinks that’s the end of it, grabbing the remote to turn the volume back up until he hears Robby’s soft laugh behind him.
“So, you wanna get me pregnant?”

Shoulders strong, wide, menacing – nothing at all like Miles’, crumpled as he is on the ground, curled into himself. Hurt. Withdrawing.
“Let’s play a little game.” He can’t even stand – can only look at the predatory look in Miguel’s face as he advances on him, the red-tinged pupils that stay fixed on him. “Let’s review everything you did today and let’s see you do it right.”

In an act of quick placation, Stiles throws up two palms facing outwards in front of his chest. His eyebrows knit together as he hastily and vehemently begins to shake his head, trying desperately to telegraph just how severely Derek has grasped at the wrong end of the stick here.
“Hey, whoa,” he says. “That’s not –”
“You need to get the fuck out of here before I call the cops.” Derek pauses a moment, his nostrils flaring just a second before his eyes flash burning red, his entire face screwing up in this expression of pure disgust that sends a shiver down Stiles’ spine. “Christ, and you’re a human? A human omega? What kind of fucking moron breaks into a werewolves’ house when they’re just a weak fucking human?”

When Miguel closed and locked the front door it cut off the porch light, leaving them in soft shadow with the scent and sound of rain all around. They were silent for a long stretch, Miles looking studiously at the floor and Miguel trying to study him with little to no success. Finally Miguel sighed and told the kid to stay put while he grabbed some dry clothes and a towel, flipping lights on as he went.
When he came back Miles had wriggled his way out of his hoodie and was holding the sodden garment out in front of himself as it continued to drip onto the floor.
“Just drop it. I’ll throw everything in the dryer and-” His words died on his tongue. Because when Miles turned towards him, the ‘little trouble’ he’d run into became obvious. And it wasn’t so little.
