"Okay, well, lets hear it" she said, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Well now I'm not sure if I want to help you or not. I'm not sure if you deserve to hear my idea."
"Come on, Bellamy" she said, "I have to study."
"Fine" he said. "So you need Finn to think that you're completely over him, which you're not. And the only way anyone else-if they found out about the letter- would believe you were actually not in love with your best friends boyfriend was if you had one of your own."
"Well of course" she said, "but I'm not- I mean, I don't have a boyfriend."
He leaned back into his chair, spreading his arms out.

Summary
The funeral was on a Wednesday.
Funerals were never a big deal on the Ark. Bellamy can count the number of funerals he went to on one hand, because they only did any celebration if the person who passed was someone of importance. Even then, he didn’t care about anyone they were mourning, but instead he looked at the clock, counting the moments until it was over. Then, when they were on the Ground, the original 100 died one after another, they didn’t have time for any fanfare.
So this is the first funeral Bellamy is a part of that makes him feel like someone’s punched a whole in his chest. Echo’s standing near him, close enough so he can pretend she’s touching him, but even she is afraid to be near him. His entire family are doing nothing more than staring at him, or the ground, or the gravestone. They feel fragmented as well, hovering around each other as if afraid to go anywhere near. Near each other, near the other Grounders.
Near the empty grave.

Upon landing in the new world, it seemed like humanity finally had a chance at peace. When suddenly something is taken from them, Bellamy and crew must find a way to navigate this new world when it feels like it's falling apart.

They both knew they were thinking of the same person, Annabeth could see it in her sister’s eyes; the image of a god that was purely Greek, undivided, with every reason to be involved in the progress of a demigod’s prophecy. They both knew he was sure to involve himself one way or another, he wouldn’t be able to help himself.

What if the Ark wasn't failing? What if there never was a problem with the air at all. Ark Station will apparently make it another hundred years until they are sure the earth is habitable again.
The rules are less draconian. No automatic floating for any adult crime.
Second children are not a capital offense. They are however, the lowest of the low, a waste of air. They are given no rations or housing allotment, no education, no medical care. No resources are given to Seconds at all. And the families they came from? They are in disgrace.
When 23 year old new doctor Clarke meets Bellamy, he is a low level guard playing in gladiator tournaments to make credits to support Octavia, and is in need of medical care from Clarke's unsanctioned clinic on Factory.
The thing is, even though the Ark itself is functioning just fine, the people of the Ark are a powder keg of anger, injustice and resentment, and someone has to do something before the last of humanity destroys itself.
