“Hey, does Nancy usually take care of you? I was just wondering since I haven’t actually seen her do it and I’ve been lately, not that its an issue.” Eddie blurts out, completely casually.
Steve turns, looks at him, and Eddie realizes that the other is very confused.
“What are you talking about?”
“What do you mean what am I talking about?”
“I mean, why would Nancy need to ‘take care of me’? Nothing’s wrong with me.”
Eddie’s head cocks to the side, inspecting Steve as he processes everything.
“Y’know, when you’re feeling like- younger. When you’re tired or upset.”
“I seriously have no idea what you’re talking about, man.”
“Seriously?” Eddie almost laughs out loud.
How had this happened three times and not once did Eddie ever think to ask him about it? it never really occurred to him that Steve might’ve genuinely been doing it on accident without even knowing why he did it.
OR
Three times Steve regresses on accident and Eddie isn't phased, just going along with it. And one time Eddie realizes Steve has no idea he's doing it at all. They're both a bit oblivious but it all turns out okay in the end

Eddie nods.
“I’m telling you now, even though I know it’s pointless, because you never listen to anything I say. Ever.”
Eddie nods again.
“Please. I am begging you. Do not fuck our new roommate.”
“Why the fuck would you say that?” Eddie hisses, cheeks aflame again. “What is wrong with your-”
“That’s all I’m saying,” Gareth interrupts airily, hands up in mock surrender. “No further objections. You’re just a natural disaster, and I’d rather keep the apartment a conflict free zone, so.”---
Eddie and Gareth require two new roommates (must be okay with illegally housed cats, must be chill with late night band practices). Robin and Steve require a place to live, and have little to no other options.
Months down the line, Eddie still finds himself tongue tied and avoidant around his very hot-probably-straight-weirdly-intense new cohabitation buddy, which is all very well and good- until they end up snowed in together during a powercut, and are forced to get a little cozy together <3- Language:

Steve raps his knuckles on the door and waits a moment while he hears banging and thumping coming from inside, like a pack of baby deer are struggling to take their first steps. When the door opens, he’s face to face with Bambi eyes.
Seriously, it’s like he’s got a Disney princess thing going on with the big eyes and the long hair and the full lips. Except he’s kind of gangly and his cheeks are flushed, there’s a distinct smell of weed wafting out from behind him, and he’s wearing a Weird Al shirt with Garfield boxers and mismatched socks. There’s a hole in one of them and his big toe is sticking out.
He actually looks like a total loser.
Steve's dick twitches in his pants.

Steve's newest job at Surfer Boy Pizza lands him on the doorstep of a truly pathetic man. There's only one thing he can do. He's got to fuck this loser.

He imagined the looks on their faces if he told them, the brightening of their features at the prospect of another queer member of the group then squashed by the clarification that he wasn’t all the way gay. He wondered if they’d laugh, call him silly for thinking that was relevant, that he’d still one day marry a woman so it didn’t matter.
Or maybe they’d be angry at him for wasting their time. He could see the betrayal on Eddie’s face, thinking Steve’s feelings for him were some kind of joke. He could envision the trust between them vanishing all because he decided to open his mouth. They might, he thought, close off completely for daring to compare himself to them. Nothing was worth that.
The weekend after he realized he was bisexual, he kept his mouth shut.
