It was slow; agonizingly slow—his lungs strained as he breathed, and every time it became more difficult, like he was right back under that building, struggling to hold up hundreds of tons of concrete and rubble, unable to stop because if he stopped—that was it. No do-overs for Peter Parker. There would be—nothing.Percy Jackson was done. So, so incredibly over literally everything in the universe. He wanted to lay down and just—stop. Have the world slow down, and—for once in his goddamn life, rest peacefully.
Neither of them get what they want, of course.
