    So, you could say that Noel had a bit of a building dislike for the supposed saintly student and her apparent good deeds. It seemed that she knew this already, though, as she seemed to avoid him if they happened to pass by each other, whether it be in the halls, up or down the stairs, or even at the fair.
    Noel was content to keep it that way. Not seeing Tammy meant he didn’t have to see his sorry excuse of a father, nor did he have to face the fact that his father preferred another family that he hadn’t been a part of for seven years rather than the one he had.
    But, as always, something had to go awry. Nothing can ever go exactly the way he planned in Noel Gruber’s life.

    Tammy and Noel are half-siblings, although Tammy was a child of an affair. Noel deals with his feelings of resentment towards Tammy after his father joined her family after the divorce.
