    Instantly, the room falls silent. Jisung, who woke up from the previous shouting, looks over in horror. Renjun drops his phone mid scroll. Mark looks like he’s seconds from going out to the balcony and jumping off of it.

    Donghyuck raises a single, questioning eyebrow, and retorts, “You wish.”

    “You always run away when it gets too real, don’t you?” Donghyuck murmured, voice laced with something Mark wasn’t sure he was ready to acknowledge.

    Mark’s mind warred with itself. He should stop this. Exit the elevator, go to his room, sleep off whatever he was feeling, and wake up like nothing happened. But he knew it was pointless. He didn’t know how much longer he could keep the truth from spilling out.

    Maybe he should’ve walked away. Maybe he should’ve laughed it off. But Donghyuck’s fingers had already slipped under the hem of his shirt, warm against his skin, and Mark was so, so tired of pretending.
