Eddie can feel Buck tense up next to him. If he gave even the slightest indication, Buck would probably go fist-fight Helena Diaz right in this spot. Not that it wouldn’t be funny to watch his cute, golden retriever partner fight his conservative, son-stealing mom, but he decides that dropping a Buck-shaped bomb on them, quickly followed by a gay-colored second one, is enough massacre for one night.
“It’s who I am, Mom. It’s not a choice, and it’s not going to change.” Hopefully, it sounds as decisive as he feels, no space for debate for real this time.
So, turns out, his mom was still actively ignoring the memo.
“Yes, it is. I thought I was a lesbian once, and guess what, I chose not to be.”
or: Eddie wants to give his parents a chance to do the right thing, so he decides to reintroduce them to Buck, as his boyfriend, and maybe come out whilst he's at it. It does not go as planned.

Their hands separate. The young Centaur player urges all his nervous tics not show. Not now. Not in front of him.
“Don’t know yet, might just need to keep my eyes on you,” Marleau says, as if this sentence is not Luca’s biggest dream and biggest nightmare.
No nerves. No overthinking. Just confidence.
“You do that then,” no thoughts in Luca’s head at this point, “might even put on a show for you.”
