“You said it was bad,” Lena managed to hoarsely respond after a beat too long.

Nodding, Lillian stared up at the ceiling for a moment, her throat bobbing as her lips twisted wryly. “I’m dying. Stage four pancreatic cancer.”

    “How long do you have?”

    “A month, maybe two.”

    “Oh.”

    -

Returning home for the first time in twelve years to the news that her mother is dying, the last thing that Lena wants is to run into the childhood best friend she hasn't spoken to since she left Midvale all those years ago. Especially when said friend was the reason Lena swore she'd never go back home again.

Still harbouring the sting of teenage love and rejection, as well as the pressure of her unsatisfying career and resentment towards her mother, Lena's life is brought to a halt in her hometown as she's forced to confront years of repressed feelings and the truth about what she really wants out of life while waiting for her mother to die.

She was going to school. Normal people did that.
Normal people didn’t arrive on Air Force One.
Normal people didn’t bring a Secret Service detail and two armed agents to their dorm room.
She let her eyes flutter closed for a moment, trying to imagine what it might feel like to walk across campus without eyes on her. Without someone watching. Without someone knowing her name before she’d even spoken it. What would it be like to flirt with a girl in her lit class and not worry that it would end up on the internet by lunch?
    Her stomach twisted.

JJ, the president's daughter, asks her father to let her go to college. There, she falls in love with Emily, who helps her experience life like a normal girl, but Emily is hiding a secret. (Yes this is based of the movie First daughter)

(Please note this work is currently uncontinued) - I will leave it here for now, I don't know if I'll get back to it.

At an exclusive Manhattan gala, Rio Vidal, the confident and charismatic daughter of a wealthy businessman, finds herself drawn to Agatha Harkness, a renowned and enigmatic writer who has just been honored for her contributions to cultural movements. Despite their age difference and vastly different worlds, the two women strike up a conversation that quickly becomes an engaging and playful battle of wit and charm.

They lose track of time, the grand ballroom emptying around them, until Agatha announces it’s time to leave.

Disappointed but unwilling to press for more, Rio lets the moment slip away, uncertain if their encounter was just a fleeting spark or the beginning of something more.

    Summary

Agatha Harkness has a voice made for the shadows— smooth, sardonic, and always one step ahead of whoever’s bold enough to call Curses & Confessions, her late-night radio show. For Agatha, it’s all in good fun— until a voice on the line changes everything.

She calls herself Death, her words are smooth as velvet and just as dangerous. Their banter dances on a knife’s edge, sharp enough to draw blood if either one leaned too far. And oh, how Agatha leans.

But when their worlds finally collide, and Agatha gazes into her honey-brown eyes, she wishes that the connection had stayed safely on the airwaves. Some truths, she realizes, feel like a curse you can’t undo, no matter how much you want to.
