Summary
“Good job, Mr. Buckley,” Firefighter Diaz says, once he’s standing right in front of Buck. He holds out the small toy, eyebrow quirking up. Is everything in slow motion? Buck thinks everything is in slow motion.
It feels like it takes forever for him to reach out and take it, but time seems to speed back up when their fingers brush, just slightly, during the exchange. He breathes in a little too sharply and nods at him, like, yes, an idiot, and his mouth is moving before he can stop it. “Uh, yes, yeah, thank you.”
...or, Buck’s an elementary school teacher. Eddie’s the hot firefighter that visits his school for a fire safety assembly. He is so normal about it. Seriously. Just ask his coworkers.

Summary
Oh.
Oh.
Of course.
Eddie was definitely wrong. This wasn’t about Copeland on B shift.
Someone who felt they could confide in Hen and Karen had told them they were in love with a colleague, and here Ravi was, listening to sad breakup songs and staring glumly at a picture of himself with none other than his closest colleague.
Ravi was in love with Harry.
or: Buck accidentally finds out someone at the 118 is in love with a coworker and comes to a very incorrect conclusion about who it is.

Summary
“Mom?” Simon asked, blinking innocently.
Chimney turned his head back to Simon. “Uh, no. Maddie is Jee-Yun’s mom. We’re talking about your dad, who shouldn’t be called Buck. Right?”
He pointed to Buck in the photo once more, ready to try again — even though, realistically, he didn’t need to.
Simon smiled large, mimicking Chimney’s pointing. “Mom!”
Chimney’s faced dropped with the heavy realization of what he accidentally just did.
Shit.
“Simon, that’s not your mom, that’s—”
“No, that’s mama!” Simon leaned forward, wanting to get closer to the photo as he challenged the words Chimney uttered. Chimney made a face and disagreed by shaking his head, then pulled them away from the cabinet immediately, instantly regretting getting his nose into business that wasn’t his. He didn’t know why he bothered, really. Chimney set Simon down, ushering him to go in the kitchen and dining room area. He put one hand on his hip and the other over his mouth, unsure what to make of what just happened.
Buck would kill him. Probably.
OR: How Chimney mistakingly solved Buck's problem, yet somehow made it worse.
