“Do I have your number?” Robby asked suddenly.
“Uh, sorry?” Dennis looked surprised.
“Do I have your phone number?” Robby repeated, reaching into his back pocket for his phone.
“Um. I don’t think so.” Dennis shook his head, taking the phone that Robby was now holding out to him.
“I’m having Jack house sit for me during the day, and he’ll be out at night for his usual 7:00PM shifts. If you, uh. Get a little too sick of Garcia, and Santos too I guess, you can go camp out in my loungeroom.” Robby offered. “You don’t have to take me up on that. It’s just, y’know. Out there. For you. If you need.”
OR Hucklerabbot enter a messy arrangement that leads to a messy three way relationship. Happy endings though, always.

“I haven’t told Robby yet, I took that this morning.” Dennis grins then glances at Clementine. “You’re gonna be a big sister!” She doesn’t respond as she plays with the hem of her overalls. “Also no need to be judgemental, we waited long enough and we were trying for another.”
“You were trying for another already?”
“Yeah but we didn’t tell anyone.” Dennis huffs. “It doesn’t matter, I just wanted to tell you first.”
“Why? Because I’m the actual father?” Trinity grins.
“No, it simply felt right to do.” He knocks her lightly with his elbow, to which she shoves him back hard enough to almost knock him over. She exudes the sisterly love he needs. “That’s actually why I came here, I wanted to tell Robby the moment I saw the plus.”

“Heads up, someone’s coming down from pedes to take a look at our baby Jane Doe.” Dana says, phone tucked between her ear and shoulder. Robby feels his entire body stiffen.
“Oh?” He says, trying to go for casual as he leans up against the desk. He looks up at the glowing board above the two of them, scanning for his patients. “Do we know who?”
Dana levels a look at him as she hangs up the phone, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
“The one and only.” She glances over at the black thermos sitting innocently next to them, a bright yellow sticker faded with some age, corners curling, with bold letters saying ‘good job’.
“Ah. Right.”

Summary
When Robby starts his rotation at the ED he thinks he knows what to expect. At M.S. 4, the last rotation he needs is emergency medicine, but having done his last one in the ICU he figures he’s bringing in good experience. Some would call that cocky. Bratty, even. Robby argues that it’s not cockiness he’s packing, but intelligence. Core knowledge on the internal workings of medicine. His evaluations clearly reflect that, so if he has a bit of an ego he argues it’s well deserved.
Robby brings this attitude with him on his first day at PTMC. He’s in nice scrubs, comfy shoes he’s broken in, and has his notepad ready for any questions. He holds himself with an air of confidence because he knows he’s able to handle this.
That quickly proves to be wishful thinking.
The senior attending, Dr. Dennis Whitaker, is an interesting man to say the least.
