Arcanis’s tail twitched thoughtfully. He had been hearing the same whispers too, from the farmers when he visited their fields for samples and from more than one of his recent clients. Although it would be nice to dismiss these stories as just rumors and exaggerations, one could never be too careful when it came to wolves. Cats didn’t need to fear many predators, after all, but the size and strength of wolves meant that even one of them would be a formidable threat to the community.
