“That night in Vegas,” he starts, meeting Ilya’s eyes. “Do you remember that?”
Ilya pretends to think about it. “Ah, yes,” he finally says. “Hottest night of my life. I won the Cup, and I watched you fuck yourself on your fingers.” He grins. “Beautiful view.”
“Yeah, that night.” Shane exhales, turning his head to look at the wall instead of Ilya.
“I hurt you?”
“Well, we weren’t exactly dating. Or even on a first name basis. So, it’s really no big deal. I was just already terribly in love with you, but I didn’t know it yet. And it was so long ago, so it doesn’t even matter.”
“Hollander.” Ilya leans in, forcing Shane’s gaze back to him with only his name. “How did I hurt you in Vegas?”
“We—” Shane swallows, and suddenly his secret seems a lot sillier than before. “It’s stupid.”
“Hollander.”
“We didn’t even kiss, that night.”-----
Ilya asks Shane if he has ever hurt him, and decides to fix what he did wrong in Vegas all those years ago. Instead of apologizing, he makes Shane relive the night, except better. Except this time, he kisses him.
