The sentence barely registers in Mydei’s mind as he stares at the shadow of the man who was once Phainon, who sits completely still in a chair, dull eyes staring sightlessly ahead.
“Damage to mind function detected… Possibly irreversible…”
The Antikytheran-like man continues reading through the digitized logs impartially, as if merely reciting a speech. But every single word he says drives another stake into Mydei’s heart.

Summary
In the past when someone asked Hyacine who were the worst patients she had to deal with, she knew the answer right away - doctors themselves. This remained true until the day a certain Chrysos Heir was admitted to the ward she watched over. She didn’t consider Phainon to be a menace or someone impossible to tackle, there was a different type of… difficulty his presence in the surgery was bringing. It was widely known that wherever this man went, two shadows followed.
Hyacine let out a tired sigh. If it comes to this Chrysos Heir, he arrives in a pack. As if someone decided - take one, get another one for free, do not separate for safety measures.
Basically Mydei scolding Phainon for his saviour complex and then they hug and are happy and my inner hopeless romantic is happy too :)
