Summary
Sora has always been Riku's best friend and even now after leaving the city in the other reality—Quadratum— they still continued to stick together.
"I only like certain candy" Riku had always claimed despite always sneaking into the cupboard eating Sora's favorite paopu gummies and pink cotton coded candies. Truthfully, he would eat anything Sora gave him because he loves him but Sora didn't know.
Sora would never find out, Riku would tell himself and give Sora some candy instead.Sora suddenly shoved his head into Riku and wrapped his arms around him while still grinning ear to ear. "Riku! You didn't have to.."
"I wanted to, silly." He smiled back at him but much softer, resting his hand on his hair. Riku enjoyed seeing his friend smile because it was everything to him to do this for his friend. The word friend stung on his tongue. They were only friends nothing more and nothing less...
Sora's eyes held absolute love and devotion towards him, "I love you.." Riku accidentally whispered only so softly.
He widened his eyes, he didn't mean to ruin everything forever.

Sora wakes with a smile on his face, a crick in his neck, and his arm slung across something soft and solid and warm. His mind is hazy, and he feels groggy with exhaustion still, but despite his itchy eyes and the tight feeling behind his temples, he strangely can’t be bothered to care. He feels too relaxed, too light, too carefree.It takes him a few moments to figure out why.

An extended retelling of the paopu scene from KH3 with Soriku kisses and the Destiny Trio actually being friends.“Hmm. Hey, why’s Riku all alone?” Sora asked.
“He said he needed time to himself,” Kairi responded. It was true, actually. On their way to the island, Kairi had suggested to Riku that they all watch the sunset together on the paopu tree, like old times. Sora had been piloting the gummiship through an asteroid field at the time, so he hadn’t heard Riku reply that it was a great idea, but that he needed some time alone first. “Let’s let him be.”
Sora hummed, eyes glued to the beach. Kairi sighed as a slight pang of envy overcame her. She knew once Sora’s attention was on Riku, it was hard to tear him away. It had always been that way.

Sora takes Riku on a private sail aboard the Leviathan and accidentally drinks enough wine to make himself tipsy. Riku takes loving care of him and learns that alcohol erases Sora's inhibitions, making him sillier, brattier and hornier than usual.While the thrill of adventure was not lost on him, Riku’s favorite pastime while sailing was admiring Sora in all of his pirate splendor—the pride with which he gripped the wheel and the grin that threatened to crack his cheeks when the ship answered his call. Sora’s captain ensemble was much more elaborate than the simple garb Riku wore, but Riku had no complaints. Not only were his loose linen shirt and high-waisted pants surprisingly comfortable, but had the added benefit of occasionally catching Sora quickly turning his head away with reddened cheeks, pretending he hadn’t been staring.
