The unfinished paper crane sat on the desk. The bed was empty, sheets folded, and pillows fluffed. The air conditioning was turned off and the curtains were drawn closed. The room was warm and stuffy, but as he sat alone in the middle of the room with a letter in his hand- he felt so incredibly empty and cold.
He couldn't help the sob that escaped his chapped lips. His long coat offered him a false sense of comfort as he held a tacky hat in his hands. His entire body shook, tears falling freely as the weight of his lover's death pulled him down slowly.
