Summary
Months after the whole continent of Australia has been connected to the chiral network, Sam receives an urgent call while on route to finish a delivery. A disruption in the tar currents has been detected, and he is asked to investigate. With an uneasy feeling, Sam accepts the request and soon finds himself face to face with an old enemy, who should very much not be alive. Unable to ignore this turn of events, the crew members of the DHV Magellan are forced to take Higgs Monaghan into custody.

This work is canon-compliant as far as the main story of both games is concerned and takes place after the events of DS2. Anything that happens from here on out is me sprinkling my own salt onto the story the way I interpret these characters. Enjoy.

Summary
Four years after the events in Australia, Sam Porter Bridges is connecting one last continent before he bows out—hopefully, for good. While halfway through connecting what once was Canada, Sam stumbles on Higgs Monaghan, returned once again to the land of the living. Cut off from Drawbridge, Sam drags Higgs across Manitoba in order to put him away once and for all.

Summary
Sam Porter Bridges.
The words were like a mantra almost, relaying and rolling off his tongue, providing him an anchor as he was thrust deep into the frigid, nerve-splitting waters. Then he wakes, promptly hacking up a tar-like substance.
Expecting another blow, because that always came after he was bad. It had to, that's how it was. That's how it was with Daddy and that's how it was with Her, his sweet red-dressed angel. Sickly, sickly sweet, an angel in the world of the dead. She was dead to him. He had to tie up loose ends.
Sam seemed to have the same idea, unfortunately.

Man now only known as N4 joined Helldivers for Democracy, Liberty and Glory of Super Earth. Any rumors that he did it to get a pet permit are false!
However, if, hypothetically speaking, they weren’t, he would first need to survive the communist-automaton-infested hellhole known as Copper-9. Only then would he be eligible for said pet permit. Hypothetically speaking.
