Summary
"The gwelaith -- an ancient law of Gondor. What is it in the common tongue?"
"Binding with rope?" Estel translates doubtfully -- his best guess, though it doesn't make much sense.
"Joining as two ropes, like a braid," Elrond corrects. "Joining in a way that strengthens. That was its purpose -- to tie the house of the king to the house of his steward, and strengthen both offices by the connection."
It is an ancient law, that the king of Gondor must marry a member of the steward's house. If Aragorn is lucky, maybe it will turn out to be so ancient that everyone's forgotten about it...

Summary
In the months following the War of the Ring, peace brings its own reckoning.
As Éomer takes up the crown of Rohan and Faramir returns to rebuild Ithilien, both men must learn who they are when duty no longer demands blood and steel. Between councils, open roads, and letters carried across long miles, an unexpected bond takes root—quiet, deliberate, and increasingly difficult to deny.
Set against the work of rebuilding a world at peace, this is a story of kingship, restraint, and the careful courage it takes to choose one’s own heart.

Summary
Faramir could feel the tears running down his face as he watched his men fall to the ground, one by one, blood spilling from their mortal wounds. Their blood was on his hands. It was his fault.
“My friend, I promise you that if the Valar grant me more days, I’ll look after your son,” Faramir said, his heart breaking as he made the promise. They both knew that the chances of survival were small the moment they departed from Minas Tirith.
He leaned forward and kissed his friend’s forehead, his tears falling on the soldier’s dirtied skin. As Faramir watched Darindor take his last breath and the grip of his fingers on Faramir’s sleeve weakened, he was hit in the back of his head and his vision turned black as he lost consciousness.

Summary
There's been a humming under his skin since the man attacked them but the young prince assumed it was the adrenaline waring off. But even if he's only heard the tales of fantastical romances, of dwarves meeting and spending the rest of their lives together, it could not compare to the actual feeling of meeting the man he knew was just for him.
