After thousands of years in the Theraprism, Bill has made no progress in convincing his therapists of his repentance and regret. Not that he’s regretful or repentant in the slightest, but can they cut him some slack? It’s not like his crimes were that bad, just some light dimensional merging and memory tampering. Well, then there were all those cults…
So, when the Theraprism, as a last ditch effort, decides to tie him to a human body with – eugh – human emotions, Bill isn’t as wary as he maybe should be. He’s maintained his righteous anger at the Pines for thousands of years, there’s nothing they can throw at him that would crack his jaded soul.
At least, that’s before he’s sent right off to the Mystery Shack in the year 2013, a year after that fateful summer that ended in his vanquishing. Nothing can possibly go wrong!

holy shit i love this smmmm
its literally exactly what i have been looking for but way better 🔥🔥update (since i was looking throuhg GF bookmarks: okay I know this fic has been dropped but it had been so much fun reading it (I still think about it from time to time). the latest chapter seems like a good part to drop the fic as the plot mellows down ykwim. i really only found out the fic was incomplete cuz i was looking through my bookmarks. i dont think i have read another fic that incorporates the ciphertology cult so far, and i really wish more ppl did!!

Summary
Three brush strokes to the right. Two to the left. A hand smoothing over his forehead, sweeping his bangs aside.
Shadow Milk knows the pattern well. His hair is always brushed the same way, in movements that seem almost robotic in how perfectly they’ve mastered the repetition. The bristles of the brush always skim over his closed eyes with such care, nimbly avoiding anywhere they might prick or poke. It always ends with a few final touches, tucking any stray wisps back into place before the brush is set back down on the dresser before him.
Pure Vanilla’s hands smooth through Shadow Milk’s hair, coming to rest gently on his shoulders.
“There. Ready for the day?”
Shadow Milk does not answer.

i love this concept sm, it pains me to see the ancients thinking they did something nice to the beasts when uts the complete opposite, like oh the beasts are acting like a husk of their former self they must be rlly happy and well adjusted!
