Summary
When they set out for their next destination, Geralt had his hair elaborately braided away from his face. By the time they reached their next destination, there were flowers dotting the braids from when Jaskier had gotten excited as they passed a field full of blooming colors. The flowers fell out during his battle with a graveir, but Jaskier assured him that it was no problem to find more flowers for Geralt’s hair. It was not something that Geralt had been concerned about, but Jaskier’s assurances made him smile anyway (the corner of his lip quirked up, which was practically a fully blown grin).

He’d heard such stories, and wanted desperately to know if they were true. It helped, of course, that the Witcher in question was a pretty man, with pretty eyes and hair that looked like it was begging for hands in it.

"I am rereading this because it is one of my favorite works in this fandom. Specifically the part in this chapter where Dick points out that Alfred is complicit has been playing in my head almost on repeat since I first read this. It's so rarely talked about in the fandom, the same way that most fics sort of skate around the whole child soldier thing and what that does to a person once they've grown up. Taking it further to examine how the violence that Bruce enacts as a part of Batman could (and does in the comics sometimes) very easily spill over into his "personal" life, especially as a father is painfully cathartic. I really appreciate how you approach family and cycles of abuse, especially siblings trying to be and do better for each other.Also, I don't think it's wrong that so many works ignore it (fanfiction is an escape in many ways and I'd be a huge hypocrite to deny it) but I really enjoy seeing people work at the meat of it. So, thank you for writing this and thank you for sharing it."

Summary
The sound of the brush against the boot consumes the next couple of minutes, hypnotic. Dick finds he's leaned in, far closer than he'd meant to. He sighs, sits back deliberately- he's not that into Midnighter. This isn't even something he's into in the first place. He's bored. This isn't a come on. The leather's started to shine like glass. He's losing the plot of this whole thing again, staring at the shoe, at Midnighter's hands working it over. He wonders what that brush would feel like against his face, what it would feel like if Midnighter decided to work him over like that instead, to focus all of his attention on him. Midnighter holds it out for him to inspect, the movement breezing the smell of leather over his face.
"Gorgeous," Dick says, finding he really means it. Midnighter grins at him, expression going lecherous and intent. Maybe Dick's is coming on to him, somehow. He keeps his eye roll at himself internal. This would hardly be the weirdest thing he's done in his life.
