Summary
When they set out for their next destination, Geralt had his hair elaborately braided away from his face. By the time they reached their next destination, there were flowers dotting the braids from when Jaskier had gotten excited as they passed a field full of blooming colors. The flowers fell out during his battle with a graveir, but Jaskier assured him that it was no problem to find more flowers for Geralt’s hair. It was not something that Geralt had been concerned about, but Jaskier’s assurances made him smile anyway (the corner of his lip quirked up, which was practically a fully blown grin).

When he was 19, he met a Witcher. He’d played the Continent and learned a great deal, but he’d never written a song about a Witcher. He’d heard such stories, and wanted desperately to know if they were true. It helped, of course, that the Witcher in question was a pretty man, with pretty eyes and hair that looked like it was begging for hands in it.

"M-My dad said you, you’d,” the kid says, swallowing. “That if I didn’t, that if I didn’t behave, he’d sell me to you. And you, you would…”
The shock burns away immediately; the ashes condense into a murky, muted sort of rage.
He stays still for a long moment, then pulls himself up against the wall. “Okay,” he says monotonously, taking a step toward the kid, and the kid- flinches. He flinches.
Jason reels back, not speaking yet, not trusting himself not to yell. And when he does speak, he says:
“Come on, kid. Let's go say hi to your dad."

He has never argued with a punishment, not since he was a toddler, if then. Surely she’ll listen, surely she’ll see this is too harsh, that he wouldn’t be disrespecting her like this if he was simply sulking over not getting his way. He needs that food, needs to be able to eat enough if he wants to be Robin.
He’s been hungry before, but back then, it never mattered if he was a little weak or dizzy. It never risked his life or the life of his partner when he was a kid.
She turns, sighing softly and pursing her lips. She reaches out to pat his cheek, and for a moment his heart soars hopefully, and he barely restrains himself from leaning into the rare bit of contact and soaking up his mother’s touch. “Oh, Timothy,” she tuts. “This is for the best. And honestly, I think it’s wise for you to cut down a bit on the snacks. I’d hate to have to listen to anyone tittering at the next gala that you’re getting chubby.”
And without another backwards glance, she turns and heads upstairs, leaving Tim alone and frozen at the bottom of the steps.

He also can’t exactly go licking himself, either— not because he isn’t able to, but because when one is under the mentorship of Batman, one of the aforementioned greatest detectives on Earth, one is likely to be questioned if an injury just vanishes. The first time one of Tim’s battle wounds seems to heal all too quickly, Bruce startles him by asking about it.
“Uh,” Tim says eloquently, “Er. I suppose it just wasn’t that bad."
Bruce looks past him at the exact point on the floor of the Batcave where Tim had lost like a pint of blood the day before.
“Wasn’t that bad,” he echoes dryly.
[Tim just happens to be a very large, fire-breathing lizard. He manages, until he doesn't.]
