Sirius is a foster kid in east Texas, 17 years old, nearing very close to the brink of legal adulthood -- he's just gotta hold out for a few more months. Hold it together for 90 or so days. Then Alphard's trust will open and he's home free.
He thought he was gonna ride out those 90 days in the group home, but plans change. Still, he's certain he can do it just as well with this new family; some guy and his tall, quiet son. Just last a few months.

“Yes!” The girl pumped her fist excitedly. Remus tried not to be endeared by it. “You’re a pretty alright person, you know.”
“Don’t thank me just yet,” Remus warned. “I’m not guaranteeing you a date with the bloody hotshot or anything. Just a letter.”

“How presumptuous,” Sirius stepped closer, clearly feigning offense. “You know I’m new to Seattle?”
“And?” Remus fought the urge to turn and face him.
Sirius closed his locker so he could lean on the door. “I love the ferry boats. I’ve always had a thing for ferry boats, but the ones in New York just aren’t the same as the ones here,” Sirius tutted playfully.
“Why are you telling me this?” Remus asked.
“I’m so much harder to resist when you know all the cute little details about me.” Sirius had pulled a pencil from his locker, now sticking it into the tied up portion of his hair and dammit he looked so good. And he was right. Remus could picture him, standing at the port, watching the ferry boats go by. It was an endearing image.
