Summary
It’s odd to know that one’s standing on a metaphoric precipice. He knows that he has a choice to make and, if he’s honest with himself, he knows which choice he’ll be making. Knew before he even walked in the room, really, and it will mean leaving behind everything he once valued and diving headfirst into his own lunacy.
Is this how cult members feel before bowing down to their idol for the first time? Like you’re holding your breath, about to fully accept and see God in what you believe to be His chosen?
Stone says, “The doctor didn’t leave his lab yesterday. I was with him the entire time, sir.”

“Infinite sadness,” she says slowly, repeating the words that have echoed in the Force and reverberated through him for as long as he can remember, a terrible certainty he’s carried for his entire life. It makes him want to cry on bad days and give up on his worst days. “No. No, I think not. Not for you. Not this you.”

“So how long did your reign last then?”
“Oh, I wasn’t exactly keeping track, you know!”
His eyes are so shifty. Crowley has missed this menace more than air.
“Come on, an estimate then. A guess. I’m assuming you were in training for at least a week - “
“A month.” Aziraphale immediately slaps a hand over his mouth, whereas Crowley’s drops open in delight.
“A month!”
“It was really quite excessive,” he replies. “I mean, a whole month to discuss ‘policy changes’! I may not have been stationed there for a few millennia, but honestly. Why did I need to spend a month being told all of the rules that they brought me up in the first place to change?”
Crowley refuses to allow the deflection, feeling more delight than he knows what to do with. “You’ve only been gone for a month and a half! What on earth did you DO?”

Summary
Shouta’s plan had been ill-defined and desperate from the start, but he figures the important shit boiled down to, “Change as little as possible, make sure Midoriya doesn’t get himself killed, and stock up on lychee jelly pouches because that flavor got discontinued three years from now.” Keeping it simple’s always better, and he’s normally good at improvising.
Somewhere along the way, he must’ve fucked up since now he has:
A quirkless problem child hanging off of his every word
His best friend going through a sexuality crisis thanks to said problem child’s mom
His other best friend clinging to him like a security blanket
Some two-bit mob boss threatening him with bouquets of daffodils
To wring the number one hero’s fucking neck for not telling him anything useful before sending him decades into the past
All he did was walk Izuku Midoriya home. It wasn’t meant to turn into whatever mess this is.

Din Djarin didn’t set out to build a clan, but the child cooed and whined and telekinetically shoved their way into his heart. A clan of two is more than enough to fill that old bounty hunter’s heart, even if the womp rat doesn’t exactly take up much space.
Said womp rat isn’t the only kid with special abilities, though, and every child deserves a chance to grow up safe and loved.

“Are you drunk?” Aziraphale asked incredulously after Crowley pulled them back into the correct lane. “What has gotten into you today?”
“Do you want to drive?” Crowley snapped, harsher than Aziraphale thought the situation called for. “No? Then stop being so - so judgy!”
Aziraphale gasped. “Judgy!”
“Yes! Judgy! The six-thousand-year-old who hasn’t bothered to learn how to use a toaster doesn’t get to criticize my driving!”

Crowley is taken by Heaven - Aziraphale gets him back.
“You know,” Aziraphale says. “I’m not enjoying this, Gabriel. We could skip all of this unpleasantness. I don’t particularly want to continue, as this is rather… distasteful.”

Eleven years ago, the world did not end and Warlock Dowling found himself thrust out of the spotlight. Now, half a lifetime later, he is finally settling into a life that feels right. A modest flat he can call his own, a supportive best friend who just so happens to also not be the Antichrist (anymore), and a bone-deep understanding of the meaning of family.

“Crowley, please!” Aziraphale takes a desperate step forward, just barley holding back from reaching out again lest his touch is spurned once more. “My dear boy, I don’t even know why you’re upset.”
Crowley splutters.
“Don’t-?” He runs a hand through his hair with a heavy sigh. And, suddenly, he doesn’t look like he’s seconds away from throwing someone off the nearest bridge. He looks… tired. Vulnerable. Small.

Summary
Crowley had Aziraphale over weeks ago and hadn’t been able to offer him anything except a kitchen stool and some leftover shepherd’s pie. His own flat has never been anything other than a place to keep his plants, sleep, and waste time when he was between jobs or get-togethers with Aziraphale - he didn’t have so much as a throw to offer him.
Demons didn’t nest. Angels and birds did, but demons didn’t, really. It wasn’t done. Nests are home and comfortable - the antithesis of demons everywhere. They could; the instinct is still there, just like the wings they still have.
But they don’t.
Crowley, though. He’s never much cared for tradition.
Sitting in the backseat of the Bentley and staring out the window, he murmured, “Never been a very good demon though, have I? What’s an itty-bitty nest compared to taking a stand against Satan themselves?”

“I - You see, it’s - “Aziraphale hiccups, waving his wine glass lightly. “It’s one of those things that’s ‘Not Done’ - C’pital letters an’ all. God gave you this form and you best be grateful. Take care of it - preserve it!” He’s clearly repeating something that has been snapped at him in the past. If Crowley had to guess, he’d put money on Sandalphon. The prick.
“Bodies aren’t museums,” Crowley says, putting his glass down and rubbing his eyes tiredly. “‘Preserve it’, like you’re a mummy. Egyptians’re wild, weren’t they?”
“It’s bad taste to change something God gave you,” Aziraphale continues. “Implies that you think you could do better than Her, ‘pparently.”
“PShhT!” Spittle flies. “Psht. PSH. ‘S dumb.”
In the way he only does when spectacularly plastered, Aziraphale pops the “p” on his, “Yep.”

Summary
Aziraphale’s the only one in existence who, if he said, “Yes, I believe we have to set the entire world on fire now,” Crowley would say in return, “If you’re sure, then I got some accelerant in the trunk. What? No reason, really, just had it there in case of emergency. You never know.”
(Aziraphale would likely ask, “What emergency would accelerant be necessary for?” and Crowley would retort, “Well it’s certainly coming in handy NOW, isn’t it? So I suppose this emergency.”
And Aziraphale would press his lips together all indignantly and Crowley would have to dig his fingernails into his palm to keep himself from launching himself at Aziraphale to kiss him silly because apparently they have to start some fires.)

“Are you alright? What’s all this about then?”
“Ah. Well. I might have slipped.”
“Slipped?”
“Took a bit of a tumble, I’m afraid,” Aziraphale said. “But, well. What’s done is done.”
“What’s done - ?”
“Now that I’m no longer beholden to a rather arbitrary moral code, I have to ask: Do you pay taxes? Actually, more importantly, do you think I can stop paying taxes now? That seems like a sufficiently demonic thing to do. Refusing to do my civic duty and whatnot. Quite devious, I’d argue.”
This was, in hindsight, not the most sensitive way of breaking the news.

Summary
Upon a closer inspection, Reigen notices that Harry’s wearing the same clothes as yesterday. He did, at least, clean himself up, but that’s definitely the same red t-shirt and jeans he wore the day before. No more mud or garden-debris - but he does have some tears in his jeans that weren’t there yesterday.
“You’re looking pretty rough,” Reigen says bluntly. “What else did you do?”
Harry winces. “I might have gone back to Mariko’s neighborhood to investigate. Just for a little bit.”
He scrubs a hand across his face and sighs. He sighs a lot more with Harry than he ever did with Mob, he’d like to note. “I’m not paying you overtime for being a moron, just so you know.”
Harry, visibly unbothered, says, “That’s fair.”

“The office is… really clean,” He says, a remarkable amount of judgment underneath his bland tone.
“It’s not like the office was that bad before!” Reigen protests, having thought the same thing earlier. “Sure, there was maybe a little bit of grime - but I wouldn’t expose our customers to filth. It’s bad for business, after all.”
Mob tilts his head. “It is really clean, though.”
After a heavy pause to recover from the blow, Reigen says, reluctantly, “It really is. Potter’s responsible for it. He’ll be staying with me for the foreseeable future.”
Mob’s eyes go starry. “Mr. Potter? From yesterday?”
Reigen doesn’t know how he feels about a look that used to be only for him being directed towards the skinny bit-of-nothing that didn’t know how to Google an address. He nods anyway.

Summary
Saitama patted his back and said, “He’s a jerk. Don’t worry about it too much. And hey, now you can practice one of my old, signature moves.”
Sure enough, Genos perked up at that. “A signature move? Sensei, what signature move? You’ve never had one before.”
“It’s an old family technique. Back when I was little, all of the aunts and uncles would use this to survive tedious gatherings.”
Genos, bless his gentle, electric-powered heart, had a tiny notebook and golf pencil in his hands before Saitama had finished his last sentence. Looking at him expectantly, the pencil hovered over paper and waited to record the wisdom that Saitama was about to pull out of his ass.
With a grin, Saitama nabbed a flute of champagne from the end of the table and shoved it into Genos’s hands. “Drink until everyone and everything starts being funny. Then, once you inevitably spill something on yourself or someone else, call it a night.”

Summary
He’s clearly exhausted, and his clothes are ill-fitting and draped over his skeletal frame, but otherwise, he seems innocuous and kind. He’s been unfailingly polite despite his obvious desperation and didn’t flinch when Reigen explained the pricing system.
If it weren’t for the fact he was claiming to be a wizard being haunted by his (also a wizard) arch-nemesis, Reigen would’ve given the kid a discount. That’s how much he feels for him. He’s clearly got some shit to work through, what with the way he keeps jumping at every sound outside.
“Mr. Potter,” Reigen says carefully. “Let me make sure I have this straight.”
“Sure.”
“You - a wizard - were involved in a prophecy. Dangerous things, prophecies are,” he adds conspiratorially.
Awkwardly, Potter says, “I’ve only ever known the one, so I can’t say much. But it wasn’t exactly a walk in the park.”

Holly may not be the son that Mama and Papa had endlessly tried for to carry on the Joestar name, but she wasn’t quite as dumb as a tack. She wasn't useless or weak, either. Nor was she anything but a Joestar at heart.
AU where Holly's Stand manifests and is more powerful than anyone suspected.
