    Wednesday was more than accustomed to making those difficult choices. What everyone assumed was unethical, Wednesday found it necessary. That’s why she knew it had to be her to chase after Enid.
    …then why did Wednesday unbuckle any and all potential weapons from her person? Leaving it carelessly on the ground as she followed the trail Agnes advised her to take. The thick woods and tall treeline prevented most of the moonlight from illuminating the shadows, but Wednesday could recognize those eyes anywhere.

    “Enid?” Wednesday whispered, not quite cautious, but curious.

    The creature was already watching Wednesday, though it lacked Enid’s psyche. Pure white fur (erasing the soul of the human trapped inside) was a dangerous reminder that certain magics are irreversible.

    Wednesday stood firm, “That’s alright, Enid,” she hid her secret weapon behind her, “...taming wild and murderous creatures is a favorite pastime of mine,” She prepared her footing as Enid’s wolf prepared to lunge.
