Summary
A sudden noise from above the ditch startles me.
“What was that?” Henry asks, his voice trembling. I don’t respond. I reached towards my pocket slowly and felt the outline of my pistol. The noise got louder, a deep growl that seemed to emanate from all around. A huge gust of wind blew forth from above, leaves twirling in the chaos. The thick trees blocked out most of the sunlight, leaving us in a constantly shifting eerie darkness.
Then I saw it.
The hound.

Summary
Maybe the worst part of having to share your body with another sentient and (allegedly) intelligent mind, she’d discovered, is that you share everything, even emotions. The worst thing about having Johnny Silverhand specifically in your mind is that the fucker never knows exactly what emotions he’s feeling, and usually denies feeling anything at all.
Johnny has never been one to shy away from naming the elephant in the room, as much as V would prefer he didn’t. After all, she is forced to sort through the sordid details of his stupidly complex emotions without complaint, so the least he can do is not point out that she’s a sexual being just to piss her off.

V didn’t remember walking out of Arasaka Tower. Or crashing through whatever hell they’d called a mission. Truth was, her memory of that week was a big black void. One second, she was moving, fighting, thinking—maybe screaming—and the next, nothing. Just fragments of pain, gnawing and blunt, the kind that didn’t care about timing or logic. Bits of herself showed up in flashes: her body aching in places she didn’t even know could hurt, her head pounding with a rhythm that didn’t match any music she’d ever heard, and the occasional echo of someone screaming her name. That someone, apparently, wasn’t in the room.
V goes through the five stages of grief in a world without Johnny, but the Silverhand-shaped hole left in her heart never really heals. Then one night, when she thinks she’s finally made her uneasy peace, there’s a knock at the door.

Summary
Posters on the wall said that Johnny and Kerry were performing as a double ticket, the date given being March 30th, 2013. This placed her right before Alt’s death, his downward spiral already underway. Issues with Kerry, lost glory days of Samurai, drug abuse, and not to mention he and Alt were on the rocks so bad they’d be done in about fifteen days and she’d be dead right after they ended it. Johnny told her once that this was the nightmare he had that plagued him, the one that made him sweat, never forgetting a single detail. Including the month leading up to it. Fuck. Of course they landed right in the middle of this, why wouldn’t they? Couldn’t have been back in 2004 when he was living his best life. Nope. Had to be now.

Summary
