    In the closing days of the war against Moebius, the illustrious Commander of Colony Iota and her loyal lieutenant makes their first trip to the mysterious "City" to assist in the coordination of the war effort. What she finds out over the course of one long and arduous day will forever change how she views the world and everyone in it as she learns the truth about the world, about babies, and about herself.

    Meanwhile, Monica Vandham contends with an investigation into a mysterious entity which has infiltrated the City and she doesn't know if its friend or foe.

    EDIT:
    This story was conceived and written before any information about Future Redeemed was known, so a handful of detail have made this story into something of an AU. Bonus Chapter #3 is a partial re-write of the core story to better fit in with the post-Future Redeemed canon, though it's still somewhat doing its own thing.
