Summary
There’s a man bleeding on the lobby couch. Which, okay, Grantaire has to admit, isn’t actually all that uncommon. The lobby couches have seen more than their fair share of vomit, beer, and various bodily fluids. The difference is that this time the one doing the bleeding isn’t one of the usual suspects, which is to say that instead of a slightly smelly and sweaty teenager covered in spikes, the man on the shitty vinyl couch smells like cologne and looks almost proper, his unconscious body blanketed by a comfortable-looking red jacket.
or: The one where Enjolras getting kicked in the face off-screen is pretty damn crucial to the plot

Summary
“Enjolras is staying in town for Christmas. Just so you know.”
“That’s— that’s not my business.” Grantaire scrubbed his hands over his face, wondering if pressing the heels of his palms hard enough against his eyes would make it all feel better. It wouldn’t. “Just leave me be, and go do your family stuff. I’ll— I’ll be here when you come home, alright?”
Jehan’s lips pursed, their face tense. “Fine.” They hovered awkwardly in the corner of his bedroom, like it physically pained them to leave; their body and face contorted in similar manners. “Just remember that, y’know, you don’t actually have to be alone on Christmas. Someone will be there for you, even if it’s someone you aren’t expecting.”
Grantaire resisted the urge to throw a pillow at them. “I’ll be fine,” he insisted. “I love you, though, and I’ll see you when you come home?”
“Remember to feed and water yourself,” Jehan replied, smiling softly. “I’ll see you. I love you! Have a good holiday, and don’t mope too much.”
And with that, Jehan was leaving, and Grantaire was alone. It wasn’t the first time he’d been alone for the holidays— not by a long shot—, and he knew that it wouldn’t be the last.- Language:

Summary
“Ever since I moved in, I’ve been looking at the gentle yellow glow from your window whenever you’re up late at night. I just thought that… all this time, you’ve been staring at the green light across the bay. I never thought you’d look back and see me.”Gatsby blinked in awe at my sentiment. It was as if it had never occurred to him that he could be the light for someone; that he would be chased instead of chasing; the pursued instead of the pursuer.
At one of Gatsby's parties, Nick drinks a little too much and goes looking for Gatsby. Nick's feelings come to the surface under the liquid courage and while Gatsby gently stops a drunk Nick from advancing, the next morning, Nick learns that his feelings weren't as one sided as he thought.
