Summary
When seventeen-year-old Dean screws up on a hunt, he pays for it with a broken arm and his father nearly pays with his life. As soon as the next case pops up Dean and Sam get dumped at Bobby’s house, supposedly so that Dean can heal, but Dean knows it’s just to keep him out of John’s way.
The only problem is that now a kid has just been violently killed in Sioux Falls and it’s got ‘their kind of thing’ written all over it. It wouldn’t hurt for Dean to just look into it a little, would it? Maybe prove to his dad that he’s not so useless after all. Especially since Dean already has a lead in the form of a guy at school whose family might be even more fucked up than the Winchesters.
This is how Dean’s first attempt at a solo hunt went horribly wrong (and it just might be his queer origin story, too).

Summary
Let it be said, John Winchester has nothing against gay people. Sure, it’s a little odd sometimes, but he knows his own personal discomfort shouldn’t impact the way other people live their lives. He doesn’t care so much. He’s open-minded. He’s a modern man. And that’s a good thing, too, with a son like Sammy.
October 1996. John Winchester worries that thirteen year old Sammy is gay, Dean Winchester worries about John worrying, and Sam is blissfully oblivious.
OR:
Dean, always trying his best to get between John and Sam, even when Sam’s nowhere nearby and the only fight they’re having is in John’s head. But he’s right. Though that makes John think, suddenly, of his concerns—concerns?—from earlier. Soccer. It is a girly sport, right? Who plays soccer? Europeans, eight year olds, and girls, at least in John’s experience. Is he hopelessly behind the times? “Dean,” he says. “Is it just me, or do you think soccer’s kind of a girly sport?"Series

Summary
"There, naked in the back of Julian’s truck, with his hands in Julian’s long hair (both a little dizzy and sick with the taste of each other underneath the stolen whisky and cigarettes) it was easy to forget about the class they were blowing off, about Julian’s grandma and her secret whisky, his mom and the gun under her bed. Easy to forget about John and his absent presence, Sam and his sun burn, the gun under Dean’s bed and the things he’d killed with it, Oregon, Wyoming, the smoke, the nuns and everything else that had led to them; and everything else that was coming."
it's 1996, it's the arizona desert and it's hot. The Winchesters are leaving town tomorrow, and everyone in this shitty motel knows about it. Dean shares cigarettes that aren't his, Sam shares some secrets that aren't his either. John doesn't share his whisky. Overall, they've probably all had better nights.
A Bush era title for a Clinton era fic.

Summary
“Did you know?” Dean asks out of the blue, a few miles later. He’s confrontational like a little kid. Like he’s seventeen again and demanding that the werewolves let Sammy go, like that one time. Serious, tense. Insecure. Just a little desperate. He doesn’t need to say what he’s asking about.
Or: Dean has two secrets. Sam stumbles into one of them.
