Not wanting to third wheel any longer, Jesper found his feet wandering over to the novice’s table of their own accord. He still didn’t look up, intently glaring at what Jesper was becoming increasingly sure was a semi-dismantled bomb.
“What the hell are you doing? Are you trying to blow us all up?”
He still didn’t look up, and Jesper thought for a moment he wasn’t going to reply. “It’s not gonna blow.”
Jesper raised an eyebrow, a grin sneaking onto his face unprompted.

Summary
After a traumatic event, Jesper and Wylan take a trip to Novyi Zem to heal and find comfort in one another again.
This is a 'spin-off' of sorts related to my longer SOC fic "The Pugilist's Creed". However, I did try to write this so that it could be read on it's own. There are a few references to events that happen in the longer fic, though, so if you like this and haven't read the other, go check it out!

Wylan still wasn’t sure if he meant what he’d said. He missed Jesper like mad, but things had been getting worse and worse before that fight. In a way, it felt inevitable that it would end like this. They were two people that had never been all that compatible, and in the time that they’d shared, they’d both proven themselves irrevocably incapable of change.
He had an anger that couldn’t be sated. For so long, it had been dampened down, pushed out, swallowed, rejected. To let it rise only made himself sick. And yet, it appeared he could only digest it for so long. Like a cord pulling taut, it was destined to snap.
