Summary
Harry is taking a nap under a tree by the Great Lake, and wakes up to find a small white snake has coiled up on his chest, fast asleep. When Harry tries to talk to it in parseltongue, he's surprised when the snake doesn't talk back.
However, as the little creature clearly isn't scared of him, Harry decides to keep him as a pet, a companion. Unbeknownst to him, the little snake he's befriended is none other than Draco Malfoy, his sworn enemy.

I originally wrote it during a manic episode (while pregnant!) and rushed to get to certain scenes, which meant I skipped over some plot changes I wanted and went way overboard with the fluff. (It will still be fluffy, promise)
Think of this as a “coming back soon, better than ever” situation. I’ve taken a lot of helpful feedback from the comments, and this time I’m working with beta readers. Because of that, many parts of the story may be updated or changed.

Draco Malfoy barely survived his first year at Hogwarts as a Gryffindor, but at least he made some friends. He has a plan for the year ahead—keep his head down, prove he belongs in Gryffindor, and leave his past behind where it belongs.But the nightmares start as soon as he steps back into the castle. He dreams of blood smeared on the walls, and of a monster lurking beneath the school. Memories that no longer belong to him claw at the edges of his mind.

Summary
The plan had been foolproof: become an Animagus, spy on Potter and his little rebellion, and finally do something that might earn his father's attention.
But when the ritual goes wrong, Draco ends up trapped in the Forbidden Forest—with fangs, scales, and no way to escape.
Of course it’s Harry bloody Potter who saves him.
Fine. New plan: Act harmless, earn Potter’s trust, and fake a friendship long enough to learn something useful.
But Potter builds him a home. Wraps him in scarves. Sings to him.
And somewhere between the firelight and the way Harry looks at him—without knowing it’s him—Draco forgets the plan.
He just wants to stay.
