Summary
Jake hauled Neteyam up, one arm under his shoulders, one hand slapping hard over the bullet wound. Neteyam gasped, clawing weakly at his vest.
“Dad,” he choked. “Lo’ak -Lo’ak’s still on the ship-”
Jake’s heart had faltered. A violent, sickening misfire. The way of water has no beginning and no end. The sea gives and the sea takes.
(Neteyam is shot and hanging on by a thread. Lo’ak is taken by the RDA. Jake is losing his mind, but not his boys. Not ever.)

Summary
Neytiri tells him to go. Jake finally does.
On the beach, Lo’ak is breaking.
He’s too late for pride, but not too late for Lo’ak.
Or: What if Jake listened to Neytiri and went after Lo’ak instead of letting Kiri and Tsireya find him.

Summary
The blade is heavier than Neteyam remembers. Or maybe his hands are just weaker now, barely holding on. Truthfully, he can't really tell anymore. Can't tell much of anything surrounding him except the weight of the knife against his palm, the familiar worn grip, and the way Naranawm's light catches on the edge.
Lo'ak died here. So it's a grave.
Surely, it's not necessarily a goodbye, just a see you later.
OR
Lo'ak died instead, and it's making Neteyam hear and see him in everything associated with his baby brother.

Summary
After the battle at the Cove of the Ancestors, Neytiri has nightmares.
Sometimes it’s Toruk, falling from the sky in a single bright line, broken and riderless. A harbinger of doom, of the end of the world as they know it. Jake is there, falling below him, and then he is not, because Jake is Toruk, and how could he be in two places at once?
Either way, the ending stays the same. They disappear beneath the waves, never to be seen again.
Then, there’s the Mangkwan. Their Tsahìk forces Neytiri to her knees, filling her mind in a cruel mockery of tsaheylu, and she wants to run, to do anything to make this terrible, disgusting feeling stop—
It doesn’t stop. And as she lies there on the cold, soulless metal of the ship, Varang makes her watch as she plunges her knife in her children, one by one, starting with Tuk.
Sometimes, the nightmare ends there. Jake shakes her awake, her torment having woken him first, and holds her close till her sobs quieten into something that won’t make the whole family jump to their feet in the middle of the night.
And sometimes, just sometimes, the Witch slithers into the Sully marui as they prepare for dinner, and takes a seat.
