He can't shake the way that his bass stares at him, neglected, in the corner of his room and he can't shake his best friend, Bruno, who is persistent as ever in trying to get him to join his band...

Summary
Most people are surprised to find out that Gale and Astarion are roommates. Maybe it’s because Astarion doesn’t seem like the type to hang around stuffy academics all day, or because Gale seems like someone who would be overwhelmed by Astarion’s…everything. And to be fair to most of Gale’s acquaintances, Gale himself would have agreed with that assessment a mere three months ago.
Of course, that had been before both of them had essentially experienced the equivalent of nuclear bombs going off in their lives.
or: a series of times that gale and astarion didn't realize they were healing together, and the one time that they did (plus a little snippet at the end that I couldn't bring myself to get rid of)

Summary
Wilbur hates storms.
It must be some strange trick of the universe, because nearly every time his life takes a turn, for better or worse, the skies seem to open up. He hasn’t quite decided what it means. It rains no matter what. Some might argue it’s washing Wilbur of his past mistakes, others that the sky is crying for him.
Wilbur doesn’t know about either of those, but the one thing he does know is that the whole thing has made him rather uneasy whenever it starts storming.
or: a child comes to a cottage in a rainstorm, wilbur learns that he is perhaps not quite as bad of a person as he's been in the past

Summary
To be entirely honest, Wilbur isn’t sure what his twin feels anymore.
Techno hasn’t spoken a word to him since the victory interview in the Capitol. Wilbur doesn’t really remember the conversation, too shocked and scared and disbelieving to focus on much more than putting one foot in front of the other.
Even now, his brother stands on the other edge of the platform, head bowed slightly as he exchanges some words with the mayor of their district. Wilbur only really knows him to the extent that his kid is friends with Tommy, but the way they cast nervous glances between him and the press betrays their worry.
Wilbur isn’t quite sure when Techno will stop being his mentor and be his brother again, but he hopes it’s soon because he can’t take much more of this.Or: Techno hasn't spoken to Wilbur since winning his Games, Wilbur doesn't get it at first, but circumstances force him to understand.

Summary
The two most important things that Wilbur takes with him into the end of the world are his guitar and a notebook. He doesn’t realize it until months later.
It feels a little silly, reaching for his guitar as the world falls to pieces around him, but if he lives long enough to see the aftermath, he knows he’ll regret not taking it. The notebook is more for Techno than himself. He worries his twin will forget in the chaos and with the internet down and electricity scarce, laptops are a bit of a lost cause.
They take them anyways. Still holding out some small piece of hope.
or: wilbur and his twin are artists at the end of the world. slowly, but surely, they learn to create again.

It was part of the mantra that he ran his whole business on. The idea that anyone could come in, have a drink, maybe gamble a little, all without the fear of being arrested or having their reputation tarnished for partaking in it.

Summary
When Wilbur was younger, there was a time when he had near-constant anxiety about the end of the world.
It wasn’t prophetic. It was silly childish things like the sky falling to pieces or the earth deciding to just open up and swallow him whole. Things that were easily soothed by opening the door to his dad’s room and tugging at the blankets until his dad scooped him up and Wilbur could hide in his arms.
The end of the world is nothing like his dreams, and he can’t just hide away in his dad’s arms this time.

“...surely not,” Wilbur says, scanning the email over and over again.
“I know!” Tommy jumps up, grabbing Wilbur and shaking him. “The tour sold out, Wil, holy fucking shit!”
Wilbur finds himself laughing as Tommy shakes him. It felt almost like a dream. Their last tour was nearly a year and a half ago, and they had spent two years before that as an opening band. Of course, Wilbur wouldn’t change those experiences for anything, but the prospect of playing in front of crowds that knew all the words to their songs and had fought for tickets was something else entirely.

Tommy enjoyed being a vampire hunter. Making a little extra money on the side that was usually spent on new CDs or guitar strings never hurt. But when a run in with gangs leaves one of his brothers walking in the shadows, he and the rest of the gang are dragged headfirst into the messy world of vampire gangs as they fight to find a cure.
And maybe try to save the city. Or something.

Wilbur hadn’t even had a birth certificate when he’d left, he’d had to rely on his district ID and it was a miracle he’d been able to get this camera operator job.
The fight below him was still starting up, so he cast a quick glance down at his holo tab to make sure all of the cameras were still working. He could hear Phil, his boss, calling out adjustments over the headsets as the crowd started to get restless. Idly flexing the fingers of his cybernetic arm, he adjusts his cameras into the correct position.
The arena never failed to leave its impression, whether you were one of the rich fucks paying for the fights or one of the poor kids who got dragged into it.
Or: Wilbur is just trying to make enough money to leave the country and his supposedly dead brother behind. Technoblade is slowly inching toward a winstreak that promises him freedom from a system that's defined his entire life. But, of course, nothing goes to plan as both of them end up wrapped up in the heart of a plot much grander than either of them imagined.
(cyberpunk au except i got reminded of the hunger games and cosmoknights while planning)

The door needs a new coat of paint.
It’s all Techno can do to keep himself from passing out. Staring intently at the small spot on the door where the red paint is chipping back to reveal the dark wood underneath is perhaps the only reason he’s not on the ground right now.
The only small miracle in all of this is that the door opens out into an alley, hidden from the street. Techno could only imagine the press storm that would happen if he were found heavily injured in an alley in the middle of the night. Not to mention the board would have an absolute fit.
He’d knocked on the door at least two minutes ago. Well, he wasn’t actually sure how long it had been, all he knew was that each second stretched into a minute and he was starting to have the sinking feeling that no one would answer him. Really he wasn’t even sure why he had come here in the first place.
Villains weren’t exactly in the habit of offering free medical care.
or: an injured hero ends up on tommy's doorstep and the aftermath is something that none of them expected
