Summary
It’s a small enough thing, the Baratheon stag engraved into the lid. It had perhaps been locked once, but the salty sea air of Storm’s End softens most wood after enough years, and the latch tears clean out when he gives it a good pull. Old too, then. Inside is another bundle of parchment, neatly folded and tied with fraying twine.
More damned papers, he thinks for a disappointed moment, nearly shutting it again- what a waste this whole venture had been. But these do not look like more records. There is something personal in how they have been handled and hidden away, and Renly begins picking at the twine with curious fingers. When it falls away, he unfolds the first sheet, and finds a letter.
Milord Lyonel, it begins.
[Renly Baratheon, young and full of confusing feelings, discovers that he may not be as alone as he believes.]

Tendou lifts the bowl of chocolate from the double broiler and wipes the bottom dry. He hands Wakatoshi a spoon of melted chocolate to taste. “Hey, Wakatoshi-kun, did you know that chocolate is an aphrodisiac?”
Wakatoshi takes the spoon and stares blankly at Tendou, unsure if he heard him right. A what?
“It’s an aph-ro-di-si-ac,” he says again, more slowly this time, as if he read his thoughts. “It means that eating chocolate makes you feel like you’re in love!”

Without even trying, Tendou was the first to offer Wakatoshi glimpses of his life as a separate entity from volleyball. For the next three years, Wakatoshi continued to secretly steal glances of the world Tendou inadvertently created for him, stowing himself away in it when the one he currently occupied was too much.

He doesn’t understand those plants quite as well as the others, but he respects their perseverance. Knows how to find something rare and valuable in them.
They remind him of Karasuno, a little bit, particularly Hinata Shouyou and Kageyama Tobio. Karasuno, the plants that flourished from a concrete garden; maybe even stronger for it. Wakatoshi understands them better when he thinks of them like that. He’s always found people in plants, particularly since coming to Shiratorizawa. Since having friends.
Humming to himself, he carefully clips a himawari flower. He likes sunflowers; enjoys their brightness and soft heads. According to the head gardener, they mean radiance, respect. Wakatoshi thinks of them as plants that are taken for granted, but are uncommonly valuable. Something to brighten up one’s day.
