Majima stopped struggling immediately. “Ya mean—the Smile Burger free smile?”
“Yeah,” Kiryu confirmed. “They’re going to start charging ¥800 for it. This lady from corporate told me.”
“So, let me guess. The two of ya are on a top-secret mission to ‘save the free smile?’” Majima sneered.
“Well, no, I’m actually…” Suddenly he felt very foolish. “...helping her quit her office job?”

Summary
After a very real nuclear apocalypse that leaves the world without electricity, Kiryu, Majima, and their friends form a theater troupe and try to put on a stage production of Dead Souls, a very fake zombie apocalypse B-movie with no parallels to or implications for their own lives whatsoever.
Kiryu and Majima learn that some things (like grief, and love, and nuclear radiation) never fade away, that these things transform you into something new.
Meanwhile, as the group reckons with pop culture, nostalgia, and whether it’s time to let go of the past and tell new stories, their lives become more and more like a stage production…

Summary
After the complete destruction of Kamurocho and the collapse of civilization, Kiryu and his friends form an acting troupe to lift other survivors’ spirits. The group is grappling with these really lofty ideas, like whether their art should be about escapism or about facing the reality of what happened, and whether traumatized audiences are ready for that.
But Kiryu’s not ready for that. He’s a hot mess, he’s barely processed his own personal losses, he’s fumbling through a new relationship without cleaning up the wreckage from his old one, and it’s all finally catching up to him.
(A dark, surreal post-apocalyptic AU set after the end of yk2. Each fic can be read as a standalone!)

“A good fight’s all I need, y’know? The rush of adrenaline snaps me right back to reality. Heat suppressant? Don’t need it. Just gotta do some kickin' and I’m all zen again”
In all his 37 years of his life, Kiryu had never heard something so utterly ridiculous. His frown deepened, eyes narrowing “You sure this isn’t just some weird excuse to pick another fight with me?”
“I’m tellin’ ya the truth” he purred, dragging the words out slow. With a gleam in his eye, he added, “And yer the only one who can satisfy me, Kiryu-chan”

“I’d never ask you for that,” Daigo protested. He hesitated for a second, then added tentatively, “Aniki.”
Kiryu screwed his lips into a grimace and stiffened in discomfort at the title. Next to him, Yayoi took another drag in a vain effort to hide her amused smile. Daigo recalled, belatedly, the difficulty with which he’d persuaded the man to call him something other than young master.
“You haven’t really sworn up yet, so I don’t think…” Kiryu started.
“Okay, well, I’ll still take whatever jobs you give me, Kiryu-san,” Daigo said.

Summary
Something about that Kiryu guy stirred up forgotten thoughts or feelings, twisting uncomfortably in Majima’s gut. Whatever it was, he wasn’t eager to dig into it. Not now. He had more important things to focus on—like a promise he made to a kid and a treasure he needed to find. He couldn’t afford distractions, not from the past and certainly not from some guy he couldn’t even remember. Right then and there, Majima decided this stranger was getting off his ship as soon as they arrived in Honolulu.
While sailing the high seas and embarking on swashbuckling adventures with his crew, Captain Majima encounters a handsome stranger who stirs his heart as a storm churns the waves.
