“Thank you, Ethan.” Ethan barely hears it over the ringing in his ears. “It’s okay. I love you.”
If Benji hoped that would help Ethan finish the act, he was wrong. So very wrong. Shaking all over, Ethan stumbles and almost falls, the gun tumbling cluttering down on the floor. Benji’s face crumples.
“Ethan, please. Please.”
Ethan can barely hear his own whispered reply. "I can't."
