Summary
Al-Hashimi’s tone was gentler now. “I’d like to hear your side of the story.”
“Really?” Trinity couldn’t help her skepticism. No one ever wanted her side of the story. She was supposed to shut up, play nice, and get over it. The only person who’d ever seemed to actually care was Whitaker and she couldn’t even tell him everything because she’d promised not to tell anyone else about Langdon’s stealing and she kept her promises.
“Yes,” Al-Hashimi’s eyes were roving over her face and Trinity had no idea what she was finding there. “If you’re willing to share. I’m not going to force you.”
Her expression was open, like she really meant it and Trinity was suddenly so tired of having to handle everything herself. She felt like she was imploding under the weight of the day and realized with a sudden humiliating certainty that she was about to cry.

Summary
The music is loud and new. It’s trending something a little more aggressive than dad rock, which is a space that Trinity is apparently really thriving in, but Victoria’s more used to, like, women on the Top 40. She’s sure Trinity would give her so much shit for that. She sort of finds herself wanting to say something, to goad her. As easy as it is for Trinity to get under Victoria’s skin, the opposite is true, too.
Trinity’s dancing with Victoria, actually dancing with her, not next to her, the way she was with Mel. She’s not touchy, not really, but she’s drunk and a little clumsy, now, and sometimes, her hand knocks against Victoria’s side or shoulder.
It’s easy to dance with her, to her credit. Victoria’s not super familiar with this type of thing, doesn’t really know what she’s doing, but she can swing her hips and nod her head and let Trinity’s big, beautiful eyes carry her far away from here. She’s sweating and tripping over herself, drunk and happy, and she is going to get home past her curfew and nurse a hangover tomorrow and be twenty-one and normal and okay.
or,
Javadi’s coworkers take her out for her 21st birthday.

Summary
Cassie McKay was a legend in women's softball. Nearly 25 years on the national team, she was one of the oldest players around.
Hollywood starlet Victoria Javadi has made a name for herself outside her parents' successes.
When their secret relationship is suddenly public - viral, no less - the pair navigate public perception, family opinion, and a deep desire to be loved by the other.
Or in other words:
“I mean, I grew up watching Cassie McKay play. She’s been captain of the national softball team for years and she’s still competing at the highest level at forty. That kind of longevity in women’s sport is incredible.”
