Summary
When champion Xhorhasian figure skater Essek Thelyss shocks fans by abruptly retiring at the peak of his career, he abandons his picture-perfect life in Rhosona and absconds to the coastal city of Nicodranas. After almost a year of isolation, his plans of quiet solitude crumble when a team of rollerskating misfits name him their ‘unofficially-contracted-temporary choreography consultant’.
With nine months until the Wildmount Grand Prix, Essek must somehow navigate his newfound responsibility while clinging to his dignity. It’s all made harder when he finds himself inexplicably drawn to the team’s resident community college professor who seems to have secrets of his own.

Summary
“You would be cold initially, but I know how easily the idea of outraging your handlers could seduce you.” Caleb holds the nape of Essek’s neck and bites into his pulse. “You would be lonely, and hungry.” Caleb places another lush kiss right at his windpipe and adds, “How would you like me to be?”
Essek sighs as his eyes droop. What would have caught his eye during his courting years, separating a suitor after the Thelyss’ firstborn from the rest? Defiant? Direct? He thinks through Caleb’s distracting biting and settles on:
“Mean.”

“Can’t it be both?” Caleb dares to rest his cheek against the other’s knee, hands delving into sweeping up and down the back of Essek’s calf. Essek taps the toe of the other boot against Caleb’s thigh before using it to push him backward by the shoulder.
“Either way, there is more work to be done.”

The gentle pressure he applies to Caleb’s hand does little to actually aid his trajectory as Essek floats up to the topmost bookshelves of Caleb’s office, but he does it anyway. Let’s Caleb push him up, even if it isn’t necessary. Floating is as natural as breathing at this point, the only risk of him falling would be a well concealed dispel, but Caleb still places his hand against Essek’s calf to steady him. To let him know he is there if he does fall.
Essek has fallen before.

Summary
