Louis smiled. “Eleven months. We’re working on crawling; tummy time is her personal hell.”
Harry laughed quietly. “I like the way you talk about her, learning to cook for her. You can tell you like being her dad."
“I do,” Louis said quickly. “It’s… hard. I’m shit at it, honestly, but I like it. I like her. I love her too, obviously. But I also just like talking to her; she’s smart. She makes me laugh. She's with my mom this weekend. I miss her a lot, actually; this is helping distract me." Harry was smiling, but he didn't say anything more. “Sorry, you didn’t invite me here to talk about my kid.”
“I kind of did,” Harry shook his head. "I wanted to learn about you, talk to you. But I also invited you here because you were making eyes at me the entire class.”

“It’s alright,” Louis cuts in, resting a hand on Gemma’s wrist. He likes Harry, likes his enthusiasm and yearning for something that holds such a vital place in Louis’ heart. “I understand. Hey.” He kicks out so he can nudge Harry’s shin with his socked toes. “Come with me next time, Curly. I’ll make sure you get an authentic tour.”
Harry’s answering smile is radiant, and Louis thinks their mums might be way off base in trying to set him and Gemma up, but he wouldn’t mind getting to know Harry a bit better.

Louis freezes, fingers hovering over his keyboard where they had been typing his password.
“No, I hadn’t,” Louis says truthfully. “Where did you hear that?”
“Tell anyone this and I’ll kill you, but I’d consider myself a big fan,” Zayn says. His face doesn’t change in expression, completely serious as he admits this to Louis.
