    Kira cuts her eyes sideways at Yumeko like she’s the sun and Kira is trying to sneak a peek without frying her retinas in the process. Yumeko’s own sidelong glance catches hers before Kira shifts her gaze straight forward instead, unsure if she wants to hold Yumeko’s when she says whatever the slight tremble in her lips are working up to say next.

    “You know…” Yumeko starts, painfully cautious. “...Partners?”

    This fucking girl…

    When Kira trusts herself enough to look back at her and sees the barely there upturn at the corner of Yumeko’s lips, the optimism it holds, and those big doe eyes, she already knows what her answer to Yumeko’s suggestion will be.

    But Yumeko doesn’t need to know that she’s already decided. Not yet.

    “Partners, huh,” Kira muses as she raises her glass to her lips to drain it.

     

    OR: A light Kira character study that also doubles as an excuse to make Kira and Yumeko make out in the woods.

    Rated M mostly for language, but also because the girls get a little handsy, as is their right.
