Summary
She was drowning in the one place within the ocean it wasn’t possible.
The towering walls of water surrounding the Great Hall had always seemed like a grand protector to Agott; they meant safety from the Brimmed Caps and prying eyes, along with being all she had ever known. Whenever she had a free moment, she would wander through the streets until she met the misty border of the space her kind had carved into the waves. The filtered light shining down sparkled, and she loved to watch the sea creatures swim by. Lately, though, the sparkling currents had turned to spotlights on all of her many faults.
After being shunned by her family Agott seeks out another witch who can help her. (aka origin story for Agott joining Qifrey's atelier!)

Summary
The first time Nicholas sees the guy it almost kills him, right there and then. Quite literally.
You see, these kind of things just happen to him. He’s come to the conclusion, after strenuous research into his own misfortune, troubles, and tribulations, that the universe must be rearing up for some big cosmic joke, one of astronomical proportions, and he’s the punchline of it. The idea that some higher being put him on this bitch of an earth to serve as a barometer for transcendental humor for whichever other beings might need a little pick-me-up, let it be entropy or just the vast vacuum of space, is the only thing that would explain why, in the middle of a perfectly good breakfast, doing nothing more than just sipping his coffee and listening to Livio ramble on and on about some long deceased Norwegian poet or another, his wayward gaze wanders around the cafeteria and lands on one guy in particular, The guy, and he promptly chokes on his breakfast, sending spit and croissants crumbs and coffee droplets flying everywhere on the table.
Cosmic laughter ensues, he’s sure.
Or, the college au nobody asked for but that maybe – just maybe – someone might need.

Summary
Only to watch Vash crumple to the ground, only a yard or two away from him, body placed directly between Wolfwood and the gun pointed at his chest.
Time stops. Or seems to. Wolfwood becomes vividly, almost painfully aware of the sensation of his own heartbeat, stuttering uselessly against his ribcage as this overwhelming heat rises from his stomach and spikes through his damn chest. His hands clench at his sides, and for a moment he is frozen, unable to do anything but watch Vash soar towards the ground, his prosthetic arm extended to soften the fall.
Somehow Wolfwood manages to blink. Then his feet and hands are moving. Everything else happens in flashes: He closes the distance. He catches Vash before he hits the ground. His gun is back in his hand and he’s firing it, once to knock the offending weapon away and once to incapacitate its user. He doesn’t check to see if the bullet hits home, if it’s lethal or nonlethal. In fact, Wolfwood can barely feel his own skin, much less hear or see.
