Alastor's injured.
Lucifer's broken.
And Charlie is the only thing keeping them civil... until she's not.---
“Now, now,” Alastor admonishes. “As fun as this little dance is, you haven’t answered my question!”
“You have no right—”
“And you do?” A laugh track rips through the air, and he leans forward. “You’re a pathetic little man, well beyond his time, riding his daughter's coattails.”
Lucifer can feel his claws digging into his palms as a stuttered growl rips from his throat, but Alastor continues.
“You couldn’t even be bothered to stand beside Charlie in the war you caused until it served you to do so.”
He advances on Lucifer. Antlers snapping and elongating. Everything around them reeks of iron and rot. It rolls off of Alastor as power ripples through him.
“Quite the PR move, I must say. It's done wonders for your public image, showing up just in time to save the day. But I’ve been here from the beginning!” Alastor spits. “I listened to her dreams. I defended this hotel. And I stood between Charlie and that disgusting excuse of a man well before you decided to show up. I may have underestimated that ingrate, but at least I was here. What's your excuse?”
