Severus was either in a coma and dying, already dead and trapped in some purgatory, completely and utterly insane, or living in the body of his past self.

“The house was eerily quiet, the walls seemingly closing in on him as he made his way to his study. His thoughts swirled like a tempest, each one more tumultuous than the last. He poured himself a whiskey, the amber liquid glinting in the soft lamplight as he stared into the flaming embers of the hearth. The warmth did little to ease the chill that had settled in his bones.
The email remained open on his computer, the name of his soon-to-be mate glaring at him from the screen. Izuku Midoriya. The name was unfamiliar, yet it carried with it the weight of a future he hadn’t chosen. With a deep breath, he clicked on the attached profile. A young omega, with a gentle smile and hopeful eyes that seemed to look straight through the screen. He felt a pang of something akin to pity. This stranger’s life was about to be irrevocably altered, all because of an ancient decree.
The profile listed Izuku’s information—mainly his physical attributes—like a menu at a high-end restaurant, designed to entice potential mates. Aizawa scoffed at the absurdity of it all, taking a swig of his whiskey.”

Summary
Sirius Black falls through the Veil, and Harry Potter manages to jump in after him.
Instead of dying, he ends up in the past, staring at a young Sirius. After a freakout and a complete mental breakdown, he concludes that he ended up in the past, in the era his parents were in Hogwarts, to be precise, and he has to figure out what the fuck he is supposed to do.
The fact that Voldemort isn’t quite as insane in this period doesn’t help him, especially when he keeps finding himself in the man’s presence time after time.
He can change his parents’ fate, he can keep the Marauders whole and happy, but his saviour complex won’t let him stop at that- Harry will save Voldemort along with them. Perhaps his unbearable attraction to the cruel man is the cause of that. The tantalising way Harry’s name rolls off those perfect lips may also have something to do with it.
