    Summary

They were neither the first nor the last famous people who were ever going to be shipped together by the fans and Julie was just going with it because there wasn’t much else she could do. At least Luke was cool about it too.

We should do an Instagram live together or something

    People will assume we’re married

I’ll make sure to buy a ring first

    Julie was doing just fine.

or, 5 times Julie and Luke definitely did not write songs about each other plus one time they definitely did

    Summary

The bed-sharing is new. There are still dark closets and the fluorescently-lit ladies’ toilet on the second floor of the studio; still quick, desperate kisses, and the look in Graham’s eyes that never fails to send her stomach careening off a cliff. Increasingly, though, there are also quiet, sunlit mornings when they’re home alone, the familiar press of his hand against the curve of her waist, and the taste of the drinks he mixes for her, always a little sweeter than she would have made them.

    She doesn’t hate it.

Or: Five moments between Karen and Graham spanning from '71 to '77, and one between Karen and Julia in '97, loosely based off this quote from Jacques Prévert.

    Summary

The boys never talk about how they died. They try not to go back to it; it's not like they've ever sat down and compared notes. Most days, it's easy to push it all out of their minds, and focus on living their afterlives to the fullest.

Some days, though. Some days, it’s all fresh and sharp, memories painted in vivid color. Some days, it feels like it happened yesterday; it feels like it’s still happening.

They don’t talk about it then, either.

    Summary

When Eddie Roundtree, best—or, perhaps, only—known as the bassist of the ill-fated Daisy Jones and The Six, released his first (and final) solo effort in 1983, the album arrived to little fanfare. Though the exact numbers are lost to time, Secondhand Sounds is rumored to have sold less than a thousand copies nationally. How is it then this forgotten artifact of a bygone era in music has come to capture the hearts, minds, and, most crucially, attention span of Gen Z?

Ask the rock ‘n’ roll scholars of TikTok and they’ll tell you the album is a long-lost love story.
