“Elizabeth, we don’t know when we’ll see each other again,” he says, with a strange edge to his voice. Mournful, hopeful, warning, wanting. But the look in his eyes tells her that she has him.
“And I’m telling you to live your life, and I’ll live mine, and neither of us owes the other anything. Just when we can, you’ll look for me.” It makes sense, more than anything, and she likes the thought of still belonging to herself.
Eyes fixed on hers, Darcy lifts her hands slowly to his lips, laying light kisses upon them. “Okay. We’ll pick it up.”
The one where they're both always travelling, and it seems like the prudent thing to keep their relationship as something that only happens when they're both in the same place. And that's enough for them— until it isn't.

Summary
Darcy and Elizabeth are happily married. They are incandescently happy. Perfectly happy. Elizabeth is sure of it. Except that every now and then, when she looks into her William’s eyes, it seems like there is the smallest hint of dissatisfaction or incompleteness. She cannot figure out what it could be tied to, and it is driving her mad. However, all that falls by the wayside when Darcy gets hurt, and Elizabeth is sent on a wild adventure. The question that burns inside of her is will she be able to save her husband?
