The flashbacks haunt his mind over and over again, feeling like he's back to sqaure one, except... he's not. He has to remember that he's not alone in this world anymore. With Sanemi's help, he tries to overcome this sensation as best as he can, even if it's hard to.

Atsushi holds out a hand. "Nice to meet you, Akutagawa-san!"
His future housemate accepts the gesture, pulling away not a second later.
Atsushi tries not to blush.

Akutagawa stilled completely. His throat worked once, then again.
“You asked me a question,” he finally said, voice quieter than usual.
Atsushi tilted his head, white hair falling onto his shoulders as he blinked. “A question…? What— what kind of question?”
Akutagawa squeezed his eyes shut and took a deep breath, visibly disturbed at what he was about to say. He looked like he hated everything about this.
“You asked me if I’d ever had my foot nailed to the floor.”
