Before he could strike, the Galran caught movement out of the corner of his yellow eyes. He managed to narrowly avoid a knife expertly flung at his neck. It barely grazed over the skin of his throat. He turned his attention to the Altean man who stood before a full length window. The passing galaxy’s sun cast the room with a soft glow from behind him. The man spoke with a hard edge to his voice, “By order of the Empress, you’re under arrest for high treason against her majesty. Surrender yourself to me, and your life may be spared.”

“Alright! Peter-pumpkin-eater! We’re getting somewhere now! Peter, I want to help you get home, okay? Can you help me with that?”
He prompts, to which Peter begins stumbling towards a nearby alleyway, mumbling something incomprehensible. He smacks against a wall, and Wade needs to peel him off it- fucking Christ, this kid has a grip- eventually managing to coax him from attempting to climb up brick. Like that isn’t a head injury waiting to happen. And look, Wade’s not one to judge a book by its cover, but the way the guy’s dressed? He’s suspecting he doesn’t have health insurance. Hell, he probably can’t cover the cost of the ambulance. -

“Oh, well that explains the whole bird thing, doesn’t it Koli?”
“Knowledge or death!” Kolivan happily chirps before crushing a seed in his beak.
“We’re meeting someone who can egg sit for us. Please, Keith.” Shiro looks pleading down at his dark counterpart, his leather clad arms crossing over his chest.
“Ten minutes.”

“Shouldn’t I be scared?” Keith whispers. The snapper lies forgotten. Shiro swims closer, and Keith is seized by the absurd urge to reach out and touch him, to run his hands over the rippling muscle and black tail. He could. His fingers itch to. He thinks he’s losing his mind.
