The common assumption is that people must be lining up to participate in his studies. You may meet your soulmate sounds seductive on its face, after all. But once participants learn what that actually entails: years of blind dates, weekly blood draws, constant monitoring, endless poking and prodding… The fantasy collapses. Hope is appealing.
